As most of you already know 702 has been the area code for the city of Las Vegas for quite some time. However, there are a few things you may not have known about our famous area code.
In October of 1947, 702 was assigned for the entire state of Nevada as one of the original numbering plans. By December 12th, 1998 almost all of Nevada which included Reno and Carson City was split off into area code 775. This happened because of the rapid increase of cell phones and pagers in Las Vegas, Reno, and Carson City.
Current projections indicate that Las Vegas will not need another area code until 2044. With that being said there is plenty of time for you to rock your Seven Zero Two Shirt from our 702 collection!
