Las Vegas: A community is built through sports

September 24, 2017- A community is built through sports

I moved to Las Vegas in 2002 and love everything about this city.  There is always something to do and always somewhere to go or eat at any time of the day or night.  If you like concerts, nightlife, are a foodie, love to hike, music festivals, etc. then this city is for you.  But, if you are a sports fan up until now you were limited to high school, college, or sitting in the Sportsbook.  There was a sense of identity missing from one of the greatest cities in the world.  As a local and sports fan, you can guess how excited I was to hear about the Las Vegas Knights and then the announcement of the Oakland Raiders relocating to Las Vegas.  This is what we have been waiting for and from the looks of things Las Vegas is doing it right!  The T-Mobile Arena which has already been host to some of the biggest recent events, including the highly anticipated Mayweather vs. McGregor fight.  Mockups of the Raiders stadium look as though we will have another first class stadium primed for the worlds stage and finally NFL football in our city.  Since we are a melting pot of people from all over the U.S., I am sure many fans will maintain their hometown loyalties but I for one will have a 2nd favorite team and am excited to watch us become a community. I just bought my first Vegas Raiders inspired shirt from a local company, Threads of eNVy.  ( )  Check them out for all Nevada inspired gear and start representing our amazing city and our new teams. (Rebels, Raiders, Knights, UNR)
